Apple Cider is a staple in my house starting at the end of summer and lasting well into early spring – if I can still find it in my local grocery store (and when I can’t I use unfiltered apple juice). My kids love it, I love it, and it’s a fun and easy recipe for any quick gathering or just for yourself for a daily refreshment.
Just a few simple ingredients
Why Sparkling Apple Cider is a Great Choice
Apple Cider by itself is a pretty sugary drink. While I don’t buy one with any added sugars, the natural sugars still add up. This is one of the reasons why a sparkling apple cider is a great alternative. You are still getting the apple cider flavor and enjoyment, but cutting the sugar in half (or close to it) by adding the sparkling water.
When choosing apple cider it is important to choose a good quality one. I prefer to use an organic unfiltered apple cider with the only ingredient being organic apples. Adding plain sparkling water to a high quality apple cider will allow this drink to be a healthier alternative, cutting the sugar and providing some hydration.
This is a perfect mocktail drink for seasonal celebrations or just a random Tuesday.

Step-by-Step Directions
- Place desired ice in a glass.
- Pour apple cider over the ice.
- Add lemon juice.
- Top with sparkling water to your preferred fizziness level.
- Sprinkle Cinnamon overtop.
- Stir gently and serve chilled.
Serving Suggestions
To elevate your drink, garnish it with cinnamon sticks, apple slices, a lemon and of course a fun straw.
Because you cut the sugar in half (or close to it) you can really pair this drink with any of your favorite holiday foods and it won’t feel too sweet.
Tips for the Best Sparkling Apple Cider
Use chilled organic unfiltered apple cider and a natural sparkling water for a cold, refreshing drink and feel free to experiment with ratios of cider to sparkling water to find the perfect balance of flavor that is just right for you. You can also use organic unfiltered apple juice if you can’t find apple cider.
