I have always disliked grape flavored things as I felt like it never actually tasted like grapes. But all that changed when I made this homemade sparkling grape juice. It is all from scratch, using (gasp!) real grapes! It is super easy and a fun alternative to buying sparkling beverages at the store. Use this for your next get together or any occasion really, your kids will thank you!

Ingredients Needed

  • 4-5 cups fresh red or green grapes, washed and de-stemmed
  • 3 cups water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • Sparkling water
  • Ice (optional)

How to Make Homemade Grape Juice

  1. Prepare the grapes – Wash and de-stem the grapes.
  2. Simmer – In a 3-quart saucepan, combine grapes and water. Simmer on low for 1 ½ hours.
  3. Mash and Strain – Mash the softened grapes and strain through a fine-mesh strainer to extract the juice.
  4. Sweeten – Stir in the sugar while the juice is still warm.

How to Make Sparkling Grape Juice

  1. Fill a glass with ice (optional).
  2. Add 4 ounces of homemade grape juice.
  3. Pour in sparkling water to your desired strength.
  4. Stir and enjoy!
